Tamera Mowry-Housley loves sex.

In a recent interview for the In Her Shoes podcast, the Sister, Sister star opened up about common misconceptions people have about her and the demure persona she says has been projected onto her.

"I think there is this, I don't know, stereotype because I grew up very spiritual, religious, Christian, that you can't love sex," said Mowry, referencing the unexpected topics she digs into in her forthcoming memoir: You Should Sit Down for This: A Memoir about Wine, Life, and Cookies.

During the podcast, Mowry reflected on the shocked responses she would get from her The Real co-hosts when she would mention anything remotely sexual.

"All the girls would just be like ‘what?’ ‘huh?’ ‘you?’" she said.

But contrary to the implications of her co-host's shocked reactions, Mowry has been vocal about her decisions surrounding sex for years.

In a 2013 interview with Hot 97, she revealed that she waited until she was 29 to have sex.

"I don't know how to explain this. I'm religious, so I waited until I was 29 to lose my virginity," she said, adding that she chose to abstain from sex again soon thereafter.

"You may not understand this [but] I did it, then I felt guilty, then I became celibate until I got married," she said.

Mowry married her husband Adam Housley in 2011, and the two share two children, 9-year-old Aden and 7-year-old Ariah.

According to the CDC, the national average age women first have sexual intercourse is 17.

Despite Mowry's comparatively late start, she is in no shortage of ways to spice things up.

During a 2016 episode of The Real, Mowry revealed she and her husband had made a sex tape. She also made it be known that this was one performance she does not want to have on replay. "We did one … I didn't like it! I don't like watching!"

Things only got more steamy from there as Mowry revealed what she would name the tape after some prompting from her co-hosts.

"I don't think you're ready for it," Mowry said while smiling. "Sweet and juicy."

Christian-child-actor-turned-sex-positive-spouse is not as uncommon as it may seem.

Full House star Candace Cameron, similarly, has expressed on social media just how special sex is to her marriage, telling her followers in 2020 that "sex doesn't stop once you get married," after fans had something to say about an Instagram story in which her husband's hand was on her breast.

"For all of you Christians that are questioning my post with my husband's hand on my boob — my husband of 24 years — thinking it was inappropriate, it makes me laugh because it's my husband, we have so much fun together," she said, adding that she thinks it's a good thing her husband can't keep his hands off her.

"He can touch me anytime he wants, and I hope he does. This is what a healthy, good marriage and relationship is all about. I'm sorry if it offended you," she said. "I'm actually not sorry."
