The Tame Dewan-Tatum Divorce Story Continues

It’s day two of the news of Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan’s divorce, and the story still hasn’t evolved beyond the end of the “magical journey” the couple promised when they announced their split Monday night. Not that the tabloids aren’t trying. A new story from Page Six reveals that the couple "fell out of love," but the reason was something that might affect any couple: work got in the way.

“She is troubled by his success,” a source told Page Six. “He was turning down jobs because of her, and they were fighting a lot. He has been filming the Lego Movie sequel and has at least four other acting projects in development, and that isn’t even his focus. He’s moving toward producing and directing.”

The source is also careful to say that Tatum remains a great dad to the couple's four-year-old daughter Everly, while repeating that the marriage is just no longer working; Tatum has moved out of the family home, and the two have been separated for months. The only mildly salacious tidbit Page Six seemed to get was that Dewan has been “spotted partying with stylist Brad Goreski”—though given that Goreski is married to television producer Gary Janetti, don't expect rumors of an affair to follow.

Dewan and Tatum’s relationship has been in the public eye since they first starred in Step Up together in 2006, and they kept things charming on an episode of MTV’s Rap Battle in 2016.

“You change when you're together from 25 to 35,” she told Redbook in April of last year, referencing her marriage. “I think maybe in my early 20s, I might have tiptoed around issues or didn't want to make too many waves. Now it's like, ‘This is how I'm feeling.’ You have to be O.K. with the other person becoming defensive, to let them be emotional and accept that it won’t be O.K. for a while.”
