Talk to Me Doubles its Opening Weekend Box Office Projections

It was a big weekend for indie directors Michael and Danny Philippou, whose debut film Talk to Me had a fantastic opening at the box office.

The horror film starring Sophia Wilde is reported to have doubled industry projections, raking in $10 million at the domestic box office across its opening weekend.

Citing the Financial Times, Wikipedia shares that Talk to Me had a production budget of $4.5 million, meaning the film has already doubled that.

Film Updates notes that this is the second biggest opening weekend for A24 after Ari Aster's Hereditary.

The beloved indie production company have been responsible for producing and distributing Academy Award-winning films, including last year's Best Picture Oscar winner, Everything Everywhere All at Once.

Talk to Me debuted at the Adelaide Film Festival in October 2022 before its North American premiere at the prestigious Sundance Film Festival earlier this year. It also journeyed through Berlin International Film Festival and South by Southwest and got its worldwide theatrical release this weekend.
