Famous women are sharing a powerful quote attributed to — but actually not originated by — Gloria Steinem, which compares gun control and abortion, as the House votes on legislation that bans abortion after 20 weeks.
Kelly Rowland is a true inspiration for all women. The singer, songwriter, and author has spoken out about overcoming insecurities and wanting to be a role model for girls who look up to her . If we didn't love Kelly already, the fact that she's so open about her flaws makes us love her even more. At a New York City signing for her new book, Whoa, Baby!: A Guide for New Moms Who Feel Overwhelmed and Freaked Out, the 36-year-old rocked a cropped hairdo with sexy bedhead waves. Beachy waves is a simple hairstyle that might intimidate those with straighter, finer locks, but it's actually super easy to achieve. Yahoo Beauty tapped Stunning Braids author and hairstylist Monaè Everett to show us how to get Kelly's tousled 'do in this edition of Copy That . Step-by-step instructions 1. Prep hair with a shine spray similar to Aphogee Spritz and Shine Styling Spray . 2. Spray on Oribe Super Fine Hairspray throughout hair to smooth and minimize frizz. 3. Use a rat-tail comb to work products through hair. 4. Using a 1-inch curling iron , separate and curl hair in small sections, leaving the ends out to create a loose wave. Clamp the sections of hair for about 5 seconds. 5. Rotate barrel in opposite directions to achieve a beach wave effect. Curling hair vertically (from root to end) also helps to blend hair extensions for a more natural finish. 6. Straighten bangs with a flat iron , curling ends inward. 7. Spray hairspray to set curls. 8. Tousle curls with fingers to loosen. 9. Spray Bumble and Bumble Thickening Dryspun Finish under waves to boost volume and give hair a messy texture. Richard Lawson and his wife, Tina Knowles-Lawson, better known as the mother of R&B superstar Beyoncé, hosted the first Wearable Art Gala at the California African American Museum in Los Angeles this weekend. Along with her superstar daughter, the expectant Queen Bey was flanked by her husband, Jay Z. The event was well attended by other stars such as Samuel L. Jackson, EJ Johnson, Kelly Rowland, Magic Johnson, and many more.
In an interview with Sunday Life magazine, Rowland revealed that it was actually Beyoncé's mother, Tina Knowles-Lawson, who encouraged her to embrace her natural beauty. Now she's using her confidence to inspire others.
Some people on social media are body-shaming a pregnant Beyoncé for wearing a low-cut dress. In the 59th annual Grammys telecast on Feb. 12, Beyoncé — who is heavily pregnant with twins — performed in a scene-stealing, goddess-like number that hugged her growing baby bump. In a post to Facebook, Kelly Rowland — Beyoncé’s longtime friend and former Destiny’s Child partner — posted a celebratory candid shot in which Queen Bey and members of her inner circle, including husband Jay Z, are happily grooving to the music at a Grammys after-party.
Let’s put it out there: We heart Kelly Rowland. She already started 2017 on the right foot with the Jan. 28 premiere of “Love by the 10th Date,” a Lifetime movie she stars in with Meagan Good, Kellee Stewart, and Keri Hilson. But yesterday, she was all about helping women take care of their tickers.
Matchy-matchy makeup is here to stay in 2017, and Kelly Rowland is giving the trend a gorgeous update for winter. Appearing in Los Angeles on Thursday, the 35-year-old singer wore muted shades with gray undertones on her eyes and lips.
Kelly Rowland has convinced us to hold on to the rose gold trend. The singer’s shimmering eyeshadow made the Perfect 10 — Yahoo Beauty and Style’s roundup of the best beauty and fashion looks of the week.
Many well-dressed contenders for GQ’s highly coveted Most Stylish Man of the Year Award — from Ryan Reynolds to Kevin Hart — pulled off looks that showed exactly why they’re in the running for it. Patterned suits, statement shoes, and clean-cut looks dominated the red carpet at the star-studded event.
It's quite obvious that Beautycon is coming to change the world with the age group that is indeed the future (to quote Whitney Houston, if we may.)
If there’s ever a girl whose hair we’ve lusted over, it’s the iconic singer Kelly Rowland. With her ever changing locks, Kelly has dawned a unique array of lengths, textures, and colors with her mane. When we got celebrity stylist Kim Kimble and celebrity makeup artist Rokael Lizama on board to transform Kelly into four iconic beauties of the past, we knew this would be a Mane Muse shoot to remember.
Kanye West might be making the most noise at Paris Fashion Week, from surprise concerts to multiple front row appearances with scantily-clad wife Kim Kardashian, but he's not the only music maven on the scene. Lorde, Solange Knowles, Katy Perry, Rihanna, and Kelly Rowland are all in the City of Lights taking in top designers' shows such as Balmain, Dior, Givenchy, and more. Paris Fashion Week is probably the most straight-laced and fashion-focused of the Fashion Weeks around the world, and these women have loud personalities, even louder voices, and fashion sensibilities to match. Lorde traded black for Chloé, Kelly Rowland wore a peasant dress, and Lady Gaga went ladylike.
