Dulce de Leche Cheerio Bread
Ingredients: 2 1/2 cups Dulce de Leche Cheerios® cereal 1/2 cup sugar 1/4 cup vegetable oil 1 cup buttermilk 1 egg 2 cups chopped peeled cooking apples (2 medium) 2 cups all-purpose flour 1 teaspoon baking soda 1/4 teaspoon salt 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon Directions: 1. Preheat the oven to 350F. Butter and flour the bottom and sides of a 9×5 pan, 2. Place 2 cups of the cereal in food processor and puree into crumbs. Pour into a medium size bowl and stir in the flour, baking soda, salt and cinnamon. Set aside. 3. In an electric mixer, beat the sugar and oil. Beat in the buttermilk and egg until just blended. Stir in the apples. Stir in the crushed Cheerio mixture until well-blended. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and top with the remaining ½ cup Cheerioes. 4. Bake for 1 hour and 10 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Allow to cool.
