A Cognac-based punch made with fresh juices and a touch of old vine Zinfandel, a particularly rich, fruity style of red wine, topped with Grand Marnier-soaked berries.
1 oz Cognac 0.75 oz lemon juice 1 oz simple syrup* 0.5 oz cranberry juice 0.5 oz old vine Zinfandel 3 berries, soaked in Grand Marnier
*Simple syrup: Use one part sugar, one part water. Combine in a pitcher and stir until dissolved.
Wash berries and pat dry with a paper towel. Place in bowl. Soak berries in Grand Marnier (about 1/4 cup per pint). Cover and let soak for at least 30 minutes. Keep refrigerated until ready to use.
Combine Cognac, lemon juice, simple syrup, cranberry juice and Zinfandel in a cocktail shaker. Top with ice and shake vigorously. Pour into stem glasses. Top with three soaked berries.
