When did this happen? Not that we deserve to know every detail of celebrities' personal lives, but this lob came from left field of a ballgame on Pluto. Based on their baby announcement, it was a surprise to the future parents as well. "Kimberly is pregnant. Benicio is the father and is very supportive," Del Toro's rep confirmed to People. "Although they are not a couple, they are looking forward to the arrival of the baby." When most people break the news about their pregnancy, they don't need a paid mouthpiece and a conference call with various talent agencies. But expectant celebs aren't most people. For stars in steady relationships, there's the standard celebrity baby announcement on the cover of a tabloid: "We're thrilled!" And then there's the awkward version like Del Toro's. Usually they're filtered through a press representative and read like a legal document. It may be the best way for celebs to "handle" the situation, but it's not the best way for a kid to be introduced to the world.
