The Best Perfume Bottles

By Sarah Wexler, Allure magazine

Of all the cosmetics in the world, perfumes might have the most amazing packaging. I've purchased several perfumes over the years just because of the bottles they came in. What's prettier-and more classic-than a few sexy, well-arranged bottles on your dresser?

My pop art bottles remind me of an updated version of my grandmother's collection. (I wish more modern ones came with diffuser pumps, which practically scream Marilyn Monroe glamour.) For example, I love Andy Warhol, so I once bought a Bond No. 9 perfume because the bottle shows an adorable design of his. Ditto for John Paul Gautier Classique, with its seductive female form.

I may do the same for-stay with me here-the new Sex Pistols fragrance. Even if it smelled like Johnny Rotten (which it doesn't), the bottle is punky and retro, including the "God Save the Queen" album cover and a Burberry-ish plaid cap. Having it on my bathroom shelf might be reason enough for me to buy it. What do you think is the most amazing perfume bottle?
