Spring (Cleaning) is in the Air: 7 Tasks to Get You Started
Have you started your spring cleaning yet?
Here are 7 big spring cleaning tasks to get you started to prepare for warmer weather and summertime. Trust me, once these biggies are out of the way, the rest will seem easy!
1. Fixtures
I always start at the top and work my way down so that I don't have to clean anything twice. Fans collect a scary amount of dust! And light fixtures are a magnet for bugs. Cleaning your light bulbs will also brighten up the room....just make sure to remove them before cleaning!
2. Bookshelves and Furniture
Time to clean off those big pieces of furniture you've neglected in weekly cleaning. I'd recommend going one shelf at a time, so you can easily remember where everything goes. And remember to be careful with all those breakable knick knacks.

3. Upholstery
Under the couch cushions = dust/cereal collection zone. This is what those mysterious vacuum attachments that you've never used were made for.
4. Appliances
When was the last time you cleaned your oven and refrigerator shelves? Considering those are the places you keep and cook your food, I am sure both could use a thorough scrubbing.

5. Linens
Time to freshen up all your linens and flip the mattresses for better wear. 2 hours at the laundromat is worth the effort if you have a small home machine.
6. Trashcans
Bacteria breeding ground. Might as well disinfect all your doorknobs, remote control and phones while you are at it.

7. Windows
Clean the windows on a cloudy day so you can prevent streaking; but make sure to have enough light to make sure that you don't miss a single smudge or fingerprint.
