Taco Bell's Crispy Chicken Sandwich Taco Is Finally Being Released Nationwide

Dear reader, you're going to want to sit down before I tell you this news. I'll wait. You good now? All settled? Great. So you remember a couple months ago when Taco Bell threw their hat into the ring of the chicken sandwich wars and created a crispy chicken sandwich taco that was only available in select markets, yes? Well, finally (finally!!), it's seeing a nationwide release.

Taco Bell constantly adds new items to their menu throughout the year. ICYMI, their breakfast menu is back and so are nacho fries! Huge news! But this chicken sandwich taco news might be the most exciting. Back in March, the chain announced the new menu item but explained it was only out at locations in Nashville and Charlotte, NC.

Luckily, the chicken sandwich taco is making its way to Taco Bell locations nationwide on September 2, so I guess I know what you'll be doing this Labor Day weekend! The part-taco-part-sandwich features all-white meat crispy chicken marinated in jalapeño buttermilk seasoned with Mexican spices which is then rolled in a crunchy tortilla chip coating, It's served on a warm flatbread taco shell flavored with Taco Bell's signature chipotle sauce. You can order it regular or spicy (the latter includes crunchy jalapeño slices).

To celebrate the launch and to determine once and for all if this creation is a taco or a sandwich, Taco Bell enlisted two college debate teams from the University of Georgia and Clemson University to sound off about their thoughts. The debate is taking place on September 4, so hopefully by then we'll have some answers. But perhaps the question isn't "Is this a taco?" or "Is this a sandwich?" It's "When the heck am I getting to Taco Bell to try it out for myself?!"
