Taco Bell Is Testing the Chain's First-Ever Frozen Coffees and Churro Shakes

New frozen drinks could soon be headed to your local Taco Bell. The company announced this week that it would be testing a line of Coffee Chillers and Churro Chillers "inspired by authentic Mexican flavors." The beverages will mark the first time Taco Bell has offered shakes or frozen coffees, described as the "perfect fun and festive all-day pick-me-up with colorful swirls packed with flavor."

The Coffee Chiller is filled with blended iced coffee, topped with a layer of cold foam, and "swirled with craveable flavor on the inside." It will come available in three flavors: Mexican Chocolate, Caramel Churro and Spiced Vanilla.

The Churro Chiller, on the other hand, will be filled with a blended sweet shake and topped with a layer of cold foam and churro crumbles; and likewise comes with a swirl of flavor inside. It also comes in three flavors, Mexican Chocolate, Dulce de Leche Coffee, Wild Strawberry and Sweet Vanilla; with the latter flavor featuring a "visually captivating" purple tint as an additional twist.

"We’re always pushing the boundaries to deliver bold and craveable Mexican-inspired flavors our fans have come to expect from us and these frozen drinks showcase how far our innovation goes," said Taco Bell U.S. Chief Marketing Officer, Taylor Montgomery, in a press release. "We are constantly listening to what our fans are craving next and we are thrilled to offer them a frozen creation that’s just as delicious and desirable as their favorite menu item."

Both the Coffee Chiller and Churro Chiller are served in 16-ounce sizes and will be available for a limited time starting December 15 while supplies last. All flavors will cost $4.19 and are excluded from Taco Bell's "Happier Hour" promotion.

For now, the drinks are only being served at two Southern California locations. The Coffee Chillers will be available all-day at the Taco Bell location at 27770 Santa Margarita Pkwy in Mission Viejo; while the Churro Chillers will be available all-day at the 2222 Barranca Pkwy Taco Bell in Irvine. If they're successful, you could see them at more locations in the future.
