Taco Bell Is Secretly Planning Two New Mexican Pizzas

Taco Bell is arguably at the forefront of fast-food innovation. So it should come as little surprise that the chain is closing out the year with one last menu test. And the latest items that Taco Ball is testing are a play on one of their most popular dishes.

Food & Wine reports that months after Taco Bell brought back its Mexican pizza, the restaurant now plans on testing out two new variations of the item—Cheese Jalapeño Mexican Pizza and the Triple Crunch Mexican Pizza.

A good option for those who like a little heat, the Cheese Jalapeño Mexican Pizza is topped with nacho cheese sauce and sliced jalapeños. This particular menu item will only be available in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. The Triple Crunch Mexican Pizza, available in Omaha, Nebraska, flaunts a third beef-and-bean filled layer (the original include just two layers).

Both pizzas will be available starting Thursday, December 22, for a limited time. And although the Mexican Pizza test is taking place in just two cities, a successful run could mean that the new items could find themselves at a Taco Bell near you in 2023.

While the rest of the world might be ready to kick off 2023, the Mexican Pizza actually had quite the year. It returned to menus permanently in September of this year and was even the star of a musical featuring Dolly Parton, Doja Cat, and TikToker Victor Kunda.
