Taco Bell Is Introducing A Vegetarian Version Of The Crunchy Taco Supreme

Taco Bell has already made the year 2021 better than the last by bringing back potatoes and reopening dining rooms where it's safe. But they're not slowing down with the good news any time soon, it seems, because the chain is testing a brand new plant-based protein menu item that is great for vegetarians.

Aptly named the Cravetarian Taco, the new menu item is essentially the Crunchy Taco Supreme reimagined as a meatless meal. Instead of ground beef, the Cravetarian uses a boldly seasoned plant-based protein made from a blend of peas and chickpeas. Besides the protein, this taco also includes shredded cheddar cheese, crisp lettuce, diced tomatoes, and reduced-fat sour cream which is all served in a crunchy corn shell. For vegan guests, you can always order without the cheddar cheese and sour cream to make the taco in line with your dietary needs.

If this sounds right up your alley, you're unfortunately going to have to wait for the time being. The Cravetarian Taco is only being tested at one Taco Bell location located at 14042 Red Hill Ave in Tustin, California. Hopefully, the test will run smoothly and will lead to a more widely available rollout at some point! For those lucky enough to be in the area, you can try out the Cravetarian Taco through April 29 or while supplies last. Until we know more, it looks like spicy potato tacos should continue being your go-to meatless option at the drive-thru. I'm not complaining!!
