Taco Bell is no stranger to teaming up with big snack companies to create unique items that send customers into a complete food frenzy.

Take its partnership with PepsiCo's Frito-Lay brand in 2012 which gave us the ever-so-popular Doritos Locos Taco. You may remember that crunchy item with its Doritos taco shell that first hit in limited U.S. locations and became a huge success nationally and internationally. According to one Reddit thread, the Doritos Locos Taco was “so popular that one million of them are ordered daily and has created more than 15,000 jobs.”

The Doritos Locos Taco has since become a permanent item on the menu, and while other Doritos flavors have come on and go over the years, such as Flamin' Hot and Cool Ranch, the OG still dominates.

Now, Taco Bell has teamed up with another snack brand to offer a new burrito we think will be just as sought after. There’s just one catch: it’s only available in Costa Rica.

Taco Bell’s New Takis Burrito

Taco Bell is now partnering with the snack company Barcel USA which produces Takis Rolled Tortilla Chips (known for its super intense flavor) to create Takis Burrito. However, unlike the Doritos Locos Taco, it’s not the shell that’s offering something new, but what’s inside it.

Instagram's Snackolator posted about this latest offering from Taco Bell, stating, "It's basically a burrito with sour cream and actual Takis inside which is pretty simple, but I'd think that crunch and spice would make for a really nice snack.” The image on the post also states that the burrito comes with a cheesy salsa sauce made for dipping.

Many commenters shared mixed thoughts on this latest item, with one saying,” This looks…uncomfortable.” There were similar comments like “Enough with the takis” and "Stop putting chips in tacos and burritos.”

However, not all customers are put off, with many saying they are hopeful that this item will come to the States: “Yes please bring it to California.” Another said they are "moving to Costa Rica.”

Yes, this new burrito is only available in Costa Rica, but we’re thinking it’s bound to get some more hype online, which may have it coming our way soon enough for those of us in the States who want to try it.
