Taco Bell Is Bringing Back the Cheesy Fiesta Potatoes After Disappearing Last Year
It was a sad day when Taco Bell ripped potatoes from its menu last year in an effort to simplify the menu. Luckily, the Mexican fast food chain has seen reason and is bringing them back in 2021, as well as creating more plant-based options with Beyond Meat.
The Cheesy Fiesta Potatoes and the Spicy Potato Soft Taco will both be back at Taco Bell beginning on March 11. The Cheesy Fiesta Potatoes consist of seasoned potatoes, warm nacho cheese sauce, and reduced sour cream. It makes for a solid side-dish option to go along with your Crunchwrap Supreme. The Spicy Potato Soft Taco is made up of a soft tortilla, potatoes, lettuce, shredded cheese, and chipotle sauce.
“The return of our beloved potatoes is just the first step in showing our fans the strong continued commitment to vegetarian we are making this year,” Liz Matthews, Taco Bell’s global chief food innovation officer, said in a press release. “We have long been a leader in the vegetarian space, but this year, we have more meatless options in store that vegetarians, veggie-curious, and even meat-eaters will love.”
You’ll be able to get the Cheesy Fiesta Potatoes for $1.49 and Spicy Potato Soft Taco for $1 on March 11 at participating U.S. locations. In addition to the return of the potato, Taco Bell will be testing out new options using Beyond Meat, a plant-based protein. It will be joining the over 30 vegetarian ingredients already on the menu.
