Confirmed in a tweet from Taco Bell, the Naked Chicken Chalupa is back...but only for a "hot second." Same goes for the Wild Naked Chicken Chalupa. The chain is being annoyingly vague about how long it’ll remain on the menu, so if you're a fan of the fried chicken shells, better head to Taco Bell ASAP. Hopefully yours is one of the "local participating [locations]" that will have them.

For a taco restaurant, T. Bell is surprisingly comfortable nixing tortillas. They've used eggs, French toast, and fried chicken in place of taco shells, proving that anything can be taco-fied if you just believe. This week, the Wild Naked Chicken Chalupa is coming back into rotation for the first time since it launched last January, and there's a new flavor for fried chicken fans to try.

The original Naked Chalupa is back on the menu with a white-meat fried chicken shell stuffed with lettuce, cheese, tomatoes, and avocado ranch sauce. Then there's the new kid on the block, which is a little spicier. The Wilder Naked Chicken Chalupa has the same shell and fixings with a spicy, slightly smoky Wild sauce in place of the avo-ranch.

According to Brand Eating, Taco Bell started testing the Wilder Chalupa way back in January 2017, the same month the Wild Chalupa came out. After a long wait, the fried chicken tacos will be back in stores this Thursday, and will stay on the menu through mid-July. Get 'em on their own for $2.99 or as part of a $5 box with a Doritos Locos Taco, Crunchy Taco and medium drink.

Over in Ohio, you can also get your chicken taco filled with cheese. Cleveland, OH Taco Bells are testing a Nacho Cheese Naked Chicken Chalupa, adding melty cheese to the inside of the shell. If you're really feeling up to it, you could always hack it by ordering a side of chips and nacho cheese sauce to drizzle over your taco. We'll leave that decision to you and your drunchies.
