His Tabernacle to host clothing giveaway
HORSEHEADS, N.Y. (WETM) — His Tabernacle Family Church in Horseheads is having a clothing giveaway this Saturday at the Arnot Mall. Around 1,000 items of clothing from all types will be distributed for anyone to have.
“We just realized that we want to be a blessing to the community and let them know that God loves them, and one of the small actionable ways we can do that is to help with clothing,” said Cody Spencer, Executive Pastor of His Tabernacle Family Church. “Poverty is a massive issue in our region, in our area, and we love to be able to help people.”

An administrator of the church, Brittany Gilbert added, “We have a lot of impoverished people in our area. And a lot of them don’t have clothing, and this is just a way for us to help them and just show them the love of God.”
According to Pastor Spencer, the church does two to three clothing giveaways a month and has been doing it since 2022. The clothes being handed out on Saturday were donated by members of the church and from people across Chemung County.
The clothing giveaway is scheduled to take place from 10:00 am to 11:30 am, near the JCPenney store.
