While most brands haven’t released their official Black Friday offering for 2022, we have a pretty good idea of what this year’s sale will look like. By reviewing past year’s biggest sales and deepest discounts, we’re able to make educated guesses about some of the details of the upcoming Black Friday sales. If you can’t wait for Black Friday to start your seasonal shopping, these early deals are calling your name. Several of the big box stores, like Target and Best Buy, allow shoppers to access Black Friday sale prices for a few choice days in October. Often marketed as a fall sale, these early access events give us a peek as to what types of products we can expect to be eligible for the discount, as well as what the discount might be. Several of the stores putting on a fall event have extended their returns window to make early holiday gift shopping more convenient than ever—but we still recommend checking each store’s specific policy before you buy. When was the Black Friday sale in 2021?

Last year, Black Friday fell on Friday, November 26, 2021. Many sales last year began the previous week and continued through the weekend and into Cyber Monday.

What are the expected sale dates for Black Friday 2022?

Black Friday this year is Friday, November 25, 2022. We can expect several retailers to begin their online sales the previous week, some as early as November 18. The starting date of the sale varies from store to store. Check out the next section for specific details per brand—in alphabetical order.

Are stores open on Thanksgiving, Black Friday or Cyber Monday?

There has been a recent shift away from staying open on Thanksgiving, primarily brought on by the pandemic. Since November of 2020, there are a growing number of retailers making it their policy to keep doors closed throughout the Thursday holiday. Before this shift, most stores opened up on Thursday night, but now Black Friday at most stores will start early on Friday morning. Cyber Monday is also usually open, though hours may be modified for the sale.

Are there Black Friday pre-sales?

It's becoming quite common for brands to launch a short sale during October. Some call it a Black Friday pre-sale, others dub it a fall sale, regardless—there are discounts to be had! No matter what you call them, these sales tend to give customers access to discounts on select products sometimes over a month in advance. These also often serve as the soft launch to the brand’s sale season, which does typically correlate with their extended holiday return policy. If a store has a history of hosting one of these super sales well before Black Friday, we’ve made note of it.

Are there other ways to save?

Best Black Friday 2022 Sales

Amazon Black Friday Sale 2022

Amazon’s Black Friday sale is expected to begin on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, November 24 and run through Black Friday, November 25. Shoppers can expect deals on Amazon products from their Fire TV entertainment collection to Echo and Ring for smart home options. Deals will be available online, in the Amazon app, at select Amazon 4-Star and Amazon book store locations—check hours of your local store if you plan to go in person. Shoppers can unlock fast and free shipping on thousands of items plus tons of benefits by joining Amazon’s Prime Membership program, which costs $14.99 per month or $139 per year.

Away Black Friday Sale 2022

Luggage and travel brand Away is expected to have their Black Friday sales event from Monday, November 21 through Monday, November 28. Official details haven’t dropped yet, though if last year’s sale is an indicator, shoppers should expect to see savings of up to 40% off on select best-selling styles. If you live near an Away store, check your location’s hours on Thanksgiving before heading in. This is one of the few sales that Away does each year, with savings typically available both in store and online.

Bath & Body Works Black Friday Sale 2022

Bath & Body Works usually hosts a multi-day sale event for Black Friday followed immediately by a weekend shopping event. It's expected to begin on Monday, November 21 and run through Black Friday, with deals increasing each day. Their classic BOGO sale is expected to return, with customers getting three free items for every three they purchase both in store and online. Their famous flash sale might also make a reappearance, where select items are over 50% off during a narrow time window. The past few years their stores have been closed on Thanksgiving, re-opening again early Friday morning. Join their free Bath & Body Works Rewards program for even more perks and scores.

Best Buy Black Friday Sale 2022

Best Buy Black Friday traditionally begins their sale early compared to other stores, with an expected launch date of November 18, this year. More deals are typically unveiled close to Thanksgiving and Black Friday. Sales are available on select tech favorites like TVs, laptops, tablets, AirPods and gaming consoles. Discounts are relative to each item and based in dollars off rather than percent. Best Buy stores will remain closed on Thanksgiving Day and reopen the following day around 5am—though check your local store hours. A pre-sale event is expected to take place from October 20 to October 23, where shoppers can access Black Friday pricing early. Everyday deals are available through the Deal of the Day feature, and special perks and benefits can be unlocked with either the free My Best Buy program or the paid Best Buy Tottaltech membership.

Lululemon Black Friday Sale 2022

Fans of Lululemon will know the brand isn’t too keen on giant site-wide sales or universal discounts. Their sale section, lovingly called ‘We Made Too Much’ is a feature of their site that gets particularly robust around shopping holidays like Memorial Day or Black Friday. Though there is currently a decent selection of discounted styles, Lululemon will likely increase the available deals beginning on Thanksgiving day, November 24 through Cyber Monday, November 28. Be aware though, the majority of the deals Lululemon offers are online exclusives, as well as final sale. For some perks and exclusives, join the recently launched free membership program. Members are able to return most sale items, access early drops, plus receive free hemming!

Target Black Friday Sale 2022

Target’s Black Friday Sale can be expected to begin on Sunday, November 20, 2022 and end on Saturday, November 26. Last year’s deals included Apple watches and AirPods, KitchenAid mixers, Dyson vacuums and more. Like many brands, Target stores will remain closed on Thanksgiving Day this year per the company’s official policy change. Shoppers can still save big online and in the Target app after the pumpkin pie though. Target’s fall sales event Target Deal Days is on now through October 8, featuring select daily deals and a sneak peak of Black Friday pricing. Shoppers can save every single day at Target by joining their Target Circle program and using their Target RedCard to save 5% on most purchases.

Walmart Black Friday Sale 2022

Walmart’s Black Friday Sale is expected to start online on Monday, November 21 (7pm ET if the same as last year), and in most stores on Black Friday at 5am local time. Walmart+ program members will be able to access the online sale four hours early. Walmart stores will be closed this year on Thanksgiving Day. Walmart’s in store and online deals will feature Apple Watches, AirPods, instant pots, robot vacuums and the most popular gaming consoles.

Zulily Black Friday Sale 2022

Historically, Zulily’s online sale begins on Thanksgiving Day and runs for a week, which would put it from Thursday, November 24 to Wednesday, November 30. Last year’s sale featured up to 85% off select apparel and home decor products, plus big sales on top brands like Dyson and Apple.
