Sylvester Stallone Documentary to Premiere at TIFF 2023

The 48th Toronto International Film Festival is due to commence in just under a month, and they have announced that their Closing Night Gala will be Sylvester Stallone documentary, Sly.

IMDb describes Thom Zimny's documentary as following the nearly 50 years prolific carrier of Sylvester Stallone, who has entertained millions, seen in retrospective in an intimate look of the actor, writer, director-producer, paralleling with his inspirational life story.

Zimny has previously won two Primetime Emmy awards, including Outstanding Directing for a Variety Special for Springsteen on Broadway.

TIFF's CEO, Cameron Bailey, said, "Stallone's story is one of perseverance, triumph, and his indelible mark left on the world of film, and we couldn't be more honoured to share it with our audiences as our Closing Night film".

It will also be Sly's World Premiere, set to debut on September 16 at Roy Thomson Hall before it streams on Netflix in November.
