If you've been sleeping on Sydney Sweeney, it's time to wake up. While the Washington native is most known for her role as Cassie Howard on HBO's Euphoria, there's so much more to her than her killer acting chops. What you may not know about Sydney is that she fixes up old cars on her TikTok or how her friendship with Machine Gun Kelly started. Ahead, find all the fun facts on Sydney Sweeney and the really cool life she lives.

She's a Virgo

Sydney was born on September 12, 1997, which makes her a Virgo sun.

Sydney has had acting roles dating back to 2005

Before she played Cassie on Euphoria and Olivia on The White Lotus, Sydney has had roles in shows like Criminal Minds (2005), Grey's Anatomy (2005), Heroes (2006), Pretty Little Liars (2010), and 90210 (2008). If the 24-year-old actress looked familiar to you aside from Euphoria, you probably saw her in Netflix's 2018 series Everything Sucks! or Hulu's The Handmaid's Tale. In 2019, she was in Quentin Tarantino's ninth film, Once Upon a Time... in Hollywood.

She's starred in music videos for Machine Gun Kelly and Halsey

Yep, Sydney starred alongside Halsey in her music video for "Graveyard" in 2019. In it, the pair frolics around a carnival in poofy dresses.

Sydney also played the role of popular girl Scarlett in Machine Gun Kelly's musical film, Downfalls High. Her character served as the love interest for TikTok star Chase Hudson's character, Fenix, a reserved and lonely teenager with who she forms a bond.

Sydney and MGK also took Buzzfeed's Co-Star Test, where MGK revealed that her dog, Tank, was in one of the film's scenes because he wanted her to stay later than originally planned. It seems that they're besties IRL as Sydney recently revealed that she would trust Machine Gun Kelly to give her a tattoo in a video with Elle UK.

She got her dog Tank when she was a teen

In a video with Elle UK, the Washington native talked about her super cute pitbull, Tank, and the story behind her name. She said that growing up, all she wanted was to have a dog of her own after her family's German Shepard passed away when she was 13. As a result, she'd constantly help her grandmother at animal shelters and ended up bringing Tank home when she was 17.

"I put [Tank] on my bed and I went into my mom and dad's room and said 'Guys, don't kill me, I have to tell you something. Can you come to my room?'" Sydney recounted. "My mom was like, 'This is your responsibility, we're not helping you. You need to learn how to take care of your own actions.' I named her Tank because I wanted her to grow into a tank; I wanted her to be a big, huge dog."

Sydney went to college while filming The Handmaid's Tale

During an interview on The Drew Barrymore Show, Sydney shared that she was actually taking college classes while filming The Handmaid's Tale. While studying toward her business degree, Sydney said that Hulu let her leave the set in Toronto to take a final exam for her entertainment law class.

"My professor goes, 'What are you doing here?' I'm like, 'What do you mean, I'm here to take my final,' and he goes 'No, you're not,'" she explained to Drew. "Apparently, all the kids were upset that I was able to miss so many days of school and still succeed although I made the dean's list every semester for two years. [My professor] didn't let me take the final and I never got credit."

She bought her dream vintage car and fixes it for fun

Thanks to her acting gigs over the years, Sydney was able to buy her dream vintage car, which is a 1969 Ford Bronco. She is currently remodeling the car for fun and documents her progress on her TikTok page, @syds_garage. In an interview on The Late Late Show with James Corden, she dished about her decision to work on the car.

"Well, it was a dream of mine, and I've finally been able to achieve it. I've been working on a '69 Bronco and I completely changed the transmission, changed the front and rear axle, made it from drum brakes to disc brakes, changed its powered steering," she said of the experience. "And right now, today actually, I took it to the upholstery and I'm changing the entire interior."

Her Euphoria co-star broke her toe on set

In the same James Corden interview, Sydney recalled some of her memories from the Euphoria set — including the time someone broke her toe. "My toe got stepped on during filming and it just exploded, so I ended up in the E.R," she explained. She went on to explain that a female character who was upset with her character, Cassie, accidentally stepped on her during a scene. Eventually, James got Sydney to admit that Alexa Demie was the one who broke her toe by accident.

She trained as a mixed martial arts fighter during her teens

In an April 2022 interview with Variety, Sydney shared that she trained in MMA when she was a teenager. "I started training when I was about 13. I would do competitions and fight. And I really enjoyed it… I was in first place. And I fought a guy," she told the outlet.

Sydney also said that while she hasn't used her MMA skills in her acting career so far, she'd love to take advantage of it. "I would love to. It might be something that I'm producing…" she dished.

Sydney also told Variety that her favorite meme from Euphoria is of her character, Cassie, having a meltdown in the girls' bathroom in episode 3 of season 2. "I would have to say it's the 'I've never ever been happier' meme. I love that meme," she told Variety at the Canneseries TV festival on April 2. "There was a bit of Cassie that I got to play with when she started saying that she's crazier than Maddy in a scene with Nate. And she kind of got a little more evil and dark and serious, and not so frantic. I would love to play with more of that streak within herself," Sydney said of her Euphoria character.

When it comes to choosing her roles, Sydney told the outlet that she like "playing characters that are complex and have multiple layers," she says. "And people wonder if they’re evil or good, and pure or not. I like playing characters that make people think and make me think."

She's already preparing for her new role in Marvel's Madame Web

Sydney is definitely doing her homework when it comes to her upcoming Marvel debut in Madame Web alongside titular role holder, Dakota Johnson. When speaking with Variety about her undisclosed role in the film, she shared that she's been stocking up on Marvel comic books to prepare and learn more about the supernatural and heroic story world.

“There’s a lot to learn. I’ve always been a really big fan of all of the Marvel and Sony Universe movies. I’ve grown up watching them all and I’ve been engulfed in the entire world my entire life, so being able to be a part of that is such an incredible, incredible thing,” she said. Perhaps she'll be putting her MMA skills to use. We'll have to wait and see.
