Sydney Sweeney will star in Michael Mohan's Immaculate, and the film's distributor, NEON, has just dropped the first poster and trailer.

The first feature screenplay from Andrew Lobel follows Cecilia, a woman of devout faith, who is warmly welcomed to the picture-perfect Italian countryside and offered a new role at an illustrious convent. But it becomes clearer to Cecilia that her new home harbors dark and horrifying secrets.

Sweeney will star as Cecilia alongside a cast which also includes Simona Tabasco, Álvaro Morte, Benedetta Porcaroli, Dora Romano, Giampiero Judica and Giorgio Colangeli.

Primetime Emmy-nominated producer of Euphoria, Will Greenfield, executive-produces alongside Christopher Casanova and John Friedberg. Immaculate also has Primetime Emmy-winner of The White Lotus, David Bernard, producing with Jonathan Davino, Micahel Heimler and Oscar-nominated Teddy Schwarzman. Sydney Sweeney is also a producer on the film. Gabriela Leibowitz and Ben Shafer have co-producing credits.

The film may be set in the Italian countryside, but the first trailer plummets us deep into the darkness alongside Sweeney.

Immaculate hits theaters on March 22, 2024.
