"The White Lotus" Star Simona Tabasco Joins Sydney Sweeney in Psychological Thriller "Immaculate"

Sydney Sweeney’s return to Euphoria season 3 and her introduction into the Marvel Cinematic Universe in Madame Web are on the top of our must-watch lists for 2023 and 2024. Now, we have one more project from the actress to add to the tally.

On October 28, 2022, Variety announced that Sydney is set to star in Immaculate, a new psychological horror film from Black Bear Pictures. She’ll also serve as a producer for the flick. Meanwhile, Michael Mohan, who Sydney previously worked with on Prime Video’s The Voyeurs, will direct.

Who is in the Immaculate cast?

According to a February 2023 report by Deadline, The White Lotus star Simona Tabasco has joined the cast of Immaculate alongside Sydney. Details about Simona's character are being kept under wraps for now, but we'll share more info right here once we hear more.

Per Deadline, the film's cast also includes Álvaro Morte, Benedetta Porcaroli, Dora Romano, and Giorgio Colangeli.

What is Sydney Sweeney's movie, Immaculate, about?

Sydney stars as Cecilia, “a woman of devout faith who is offered a fulfilling new role at an illustrious Italian convent. Her warm welcome to the picture-perfect Italian countryside is interrupted, however, as it becomes clearer to Cecilia that her new home harbors dark and horrifying secrets,” Variety reports.

This isn’t Sydney’s first foray into the world of horror movies and thrillers. She’s previously starred in petrifying projects such as Nocturne, Night Teeth, Along Came the Devil, The Horde, and The Ward. She also held a seven-episode arc on Hulu’s The Handmaid’s Tale.

When does Immaculate come out?

We don’t know the movie's release date just yet, but Variety reports production was slated to begin in January 2023.
