Sydney Sweeney Just Dyed Her Hair the "It" Color of the Year

Add color treatment to Cassie's chaotic 4 a.m. beauty routine, because Sydney Sweeney just made a major hair change. The actress traded in her signature blonde shade for the hair color of the year: copper.

On Mar. 1, Sweeney took to Instagram to share her new look in a selfie from the set of her upcoming film National Anthem. In the photo, the actress' ginger hair is styled in loose, bouncy curls with full bangs, and accessorized with a red bandana. Her plaid, short-sleeve flannel matched the farm girl aesthetic, which also included dainty gold hoops, and minimal makeup (a departure from the creative makeup looks seen on Euphoria).

"Penny Jo," she wrote alongside the image sharing her character's name. The film's Instagram account posted the same picture with the caption, "Introducing "Penny Jo Poplin" played by @sydney_sweeney 🎶"

While Sweeney was first spotted with her red hair on Feb. 28, a massive diamond ring on that finger stole the attention sparking engagement rumors to her alleged boyfriend Jonathan Davino. The actress has been linked to the restauranteur since 2018 and recently explained why she doesn't date within her industry.

"I don't date people in the spotlight," she told Cosmopolitan. "I don't date actors or musicians or anyone in entertainment because I can just be normal Syd that way and it's easiest. I have a great support system. I have people who will battle for me and allow me to be on the pedestal and shine without making me feel like, Oh no, I'm shining too bright and I need to step back."

Whether or not Sweeney is engaged, her copper hair is making us dangerously close to saying "I do" to the color for spring.
