It's a little-known fact that Sydney Sweeney spends her spare time fixing up old cars, which she documents on her TikTok account, Syd's Garage. And now, the 26-year-old has teamed up with Ford to give one fan a custom 2024 Ford Mustang GT designed by the actress herself.

As someone who comes from a family of mechanics, Sweeney says that working on cars is "in her blood." During the pandemic, she began restoring a cherry red 1969 Ford Bronco, before moving on to her second labor of love, a 1965 Mustang she named "Britney," which served as the inspiration for her "dream vehicle" with Ford to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the Ford Mustang. There will be only two of the custom vehicles made, one for Sweeney and one for a lucky fan.

The car is described as a "blend of retro charm and a modern aesthetic," incorporating Sweeney's "unique personal style through customized textures and embellishments." Among the painstaking details she incorporated into design include a Robin’s Egg Blue exterior with a crushed glass clear coat and sleek, 20-inch chrome rims, Sweeney’s signature emblazoned on the car’s engine, and color-changing LED stars across the headliner which are inspired by her love for nighttime drives.

Sweeney first acquired her vintage Mustang nearly three years ago in May 2021, and has slowly but surely making progress. Back in December, she released a video collaboration with Ford for the launch of her Ford × Sydney Sweeney workwear collection, made in partnership with Dickies, to walk viewers through a brake replacement on the vehicle.

"It’s heartening to see Ford celebrate individuals who are pushing past stereotypes to do what they love," Sweeney said in a statement. "That’s why I was so excited to work with Ford on designing my dream car, and I can’t wait to surprise someone special with a matching vehicle."

The contest kicks off on Tuesday, Jan. 30 and runs through Feb. 7, 2024. To enter, participants "who defy stereotypes to pursue their passions" can simply share their own personal stories on the Ford Instagram or TikTok channels.

"Like me, Sydney is a Mustang girl," said Ford Mustang chief engineer Laurie Transou. "Each generation has its own distinct personality, but at their core, they embody a spirit of disruption, edge, and undeniable allure. Sydney's interpretation of the Mustang captures this essence perfectly, reflecting the expressive and individualistic nature of those who are drawn to this iconic vehicle."
