Sydney Sweeney Discusses How She Really Feels About Filming Spicy Scenes For 'Euphoria'

Sydney Sweeney has taken the small screen by storm in the past year, but the blossoming actress claims there is much more than meets the eye to her on-screen personas.
The 24-year-old actress gained major notoriety for her role as Cassie Howard on HBO's Euphoria, where she is often seen baring it all for the camera.
Sweeney—who also appears as Olivia Mossbacher in The White Lotus—recently opened about the misconceptions people have about her filming provocative scenes for Euphoria, which follows a group of teenagers as they navigate the trials of high school.
"People forget that I'm playing a character," she told The Hollywood Reporter in an interview published Wednesday, July 27. "They think, 'Oh she gets naked onscreen, she's a sex symbol.'"
"I can't get past that," she candidly spilled, adding that she "no problem" with the nude scenes.
"I won't stop doing them, but I wish there was an easier way to have an open conversation about what we're assuming about actors in the industry," she explained.

The actress even explained that when she does photo shoots or red carpet events, she creates a fake persona for herself named "Daphne" to help quell her nerves and get the job done.
Meanwhile, Sweeney is still reeling from her recent Emmy nominations for her outstanding supporting roles in both Euphoria and The White Lotus.

Euphoria is also up for Outstanding Drama Series, while Sweeney's costar Zendaya also nabbed a nomination for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series for her unforgettable performance as Rue Bennet.
