Just in case you managed to temporarily forget, here’s your regular reminder that people can truly be the *absolute worst*. Case in point: Sydney Sweeney, talented actor and all around delightful human, recently opened up about her experiences with trolls—and prepare yourself because it’s like someone looked at the people behind run-of-the-mill horrible internet behavior and then morphed into the “hold my beer” meme.

In a new interview with British GQ, Sydney (very justifiably) took a moment to call out trolls who decided to harass her by taking screenshots of her Euphoria nude scenes and then seeking out her actual, not-famous, just-normal-people-who-love-and-care-about-her relatives to tag them in said nude Sydney pics. Understandably, this hit Sydney pretty hard, both on a personal level and because of what it says about how far our society still has to go when it comes to treating women with respect/not as sexualized objects.

“It got to the point where they were tagging my family. My cousins don’t need that. It’s completely disgusting and unfair,” she explained. “You have a character that goes through the scrutiny of being a sexualized person at school and then an audience that does the same thing.”

If the nude-pic-tagging trolls were hoping to shame Sydney or bully her out of doing nude scenes in the future or just generally make her afraid to put herself out there as an artist/human being, however, the plan was a big failure.

“I think it’s ridiculous. I’m an artist; I play characters. It makes me want to play characters that piss people off more,” she said of her reaction to the bullying she’s faced online.

So, more complex and interesting characters like Euphoria’s Cassie played by someone as talented and brilliant as Sydney? By our calculation, that makes the score Trolls: zero, Rest of Us: infinity.
