The older we get the more we are convinced that older people are just better in every single way. To see this theory in action, look no further than this insanely athletic subway granddad who puts everyone to shame with his rockin’ athleticism.

Sorry Michael Phelps, the gold for being an bad-ass grandfather does not go to you this time. It clearly belongs to Wayne McEntire, a 68-year-old dentist.

Yeah. That feeling you are experiencing right now is totally normal. It’s a combination of shock, amazement and wishing that this dude turned up at your next family holiday. I imagine he would be really good at bench pressing your younger cousins by the Christmas tree.

Don’t try to adjust your screens or mistake the following for a photo that hasn’t been formatted correctly. It is very much real. Wayne McEntire took a break from being a dentist to ride the subway in Rio for the the Olympics with his 18-year-old grandson Britton Barker. A fellow passenger noticed the pair and in an act of kindness offered Dr. McEntire the accessible seat for the elderly.

Needless to say, instead of taking the offer, Britton snapped a picture of his grandfather performing the following maneuver.

Excuse me while I collect my jaw from the floor.

From the looks of the photographs everyone in that train had the same reaction to this gravity-defying granddad as us:

The internet is also very excited about this series of photographs.

According to his grandson, Wayne works out every day — being very mindful of his joints and putting too much pressure on himself. Here’s hoping we have that kind of motivation in the future!
