December is here, and you know what that means—it's time to start getting ready for Swiftmas.

In her 2022 album Midnights, Taylor Swift lyricizes “make the friendship bracelets, take the moment and taste it” in her song “You’re on Your Own Kid"—and fans have since obeyed. Friendship bracelets become a symbol of the record-breaking Eras Tour, as Swifties covered their arms in homemade bracelets at the shows, trading them in the arenas, handing them out to celebrities, and making them together in preparation.

So it shouldn't come as too surprising that Swifties are taking their friendship bracelets off their wrists, scaling them up in size, and wrapping them around their Christmas trees to create a "Swiftmas tree."

How to Make Your Own Swiftmas Friendship Bracelet Tree

To create a festive friendship bracelet garland, you need white, three-inch, foam circles, fishing wire, self-adhesive letters, and ball pit balls, which you can find at most craft stores or on Amazon.

Once you have your saying and colors picked out, make your beads by sticking the self-adhesive letters onto the foam circles. Use a big needle to thread fishing wire through each, and then thread your ball pit balls on either side of those lettered beads until you’re happy with the size.

On TikTok, some took a line from a classic Christmas tune: @chelseazeferina spelled out “Merry and Bright” on her pink tree, which she also adorned with colorful star-shaped garlands. Another creator, @cgeek_, made a garland that reads “'Tis the damn season” (in reference to the Evermore song).

If you want something smaller, @maddi34_ put her mini Christmas tree in an Eras Tour movie popcorn bucket and used regular-sized friendship bracelets as ornaments. So far, the video has racked up over 270,000 likes. One user wrote in the comments, “you are in fact a mastermind bc this is genius." Plenty of other creators are doing the same with their buckets, like adding some bright gold garland to make it really sparkle.
