Sweetgreen has a new protein offering — and a sweet new deal to go with it!

As of May 7, the salad chain now offers Caramelized Garlic Steak, which features “a grass-fed, pasture-raised steak, seasoned with a garlic spice blend and roasted for a deep caramelized char on the outside and a juicy center on the inside,” per a release.

If you're looking to try out the new protein option, do it on Wednesday, May 22. For just that day, Sweetgreen customers can buy one signature steak entrée and receive another of equal or lesser value for 50% off. The tasty new meals include the Caramelized Garlic Steak protein plate, Kale Caesar (Steak) salad and Steakhouse Chopped warm bowl.

The deal can also be doubled — customers who order two steak entrées (in one transaction) can take half off two other steak entrées.

The three new menu items are definitely hearty options worthy of the deal. For starters, the protein plate pairs the new steak option with wild rice, warm roasted sweet potatoes, spicy broccoli, tomatoes and pesto vinaigrette, and the new caesar salad is a spin on the tried-and-true menu item — but with steak swapped for the classic roasted chicken.

The Steakhouse Chopped warm bowl includes chopped romaine, herbed quinoa, shredded cabbage, tomatoes, crispy onions, blue cheese and the chain’s popular green goddess ranch dressing.

Prior to the new “BOGO 50%” promo, the salad chain ran another campaign fronted not by steak, but by a star: singer, actress and salad lover Reneé Rapp.

Last fall, the Mean Girls star and self-identified Sweetgreen fan launched her own salad with the brand, which included roasted tofu, cilantro, cucumbers, red onions, shredded cabbage, spicy broccoli and tomatoes on a spring mix bed and was, naturally, doused in Rapp’s favorite dressing.

“The spicy cashew dressing is amazing, and it's been a new addition to my life in the last year,” the singer told PEOPLE at the time, adding that she recently “switched from lime cilantro jalapeno vinaigrette with hot sauce to the spicy cashew — which was a big deal in my household.”

“I absolutely don't switch up at all. I eat the same things every single day, pretty much,” she added. “Being that I have a sensitive stomach, I can only eat certain things. So a lot of the bowl is just based on what my body can be fueled by during the day and at night.”
