Do we have a Sweet Magnolias season 3 trailer?
We do! More than a year after the show was confirmed (more on that below), fans were treated to an update on the three childhood South Carolina friends' lives. The trailer joins JoAnna Garcia Swisher's Maddie, Brooke Elliott's Dana Sue, and Heather Headley's Helen as they promise to be there for each other "forever and a day."
Maddie's voiceover then says, "That’s how we all get through. One walk, one brunch, one conversation at a time."
What will happen in Sweet Magnolias season 3?
The official synopsis explains, "Following the brawl at Sullivan's, Maddie wrestles with the best way to help Cal and works to clear her own emotional path. Helen faces difficult decisions about the men in her life. And Dana Sue searches for a way to use Miss Frances' check to help the community, without upending her family.
"The identity of the tire slasher sends shockwaves through Serenity, the recall causes unexpected consequences, and there are romantic surprises in every generation. Throughout the season, the ladies tackle these problems -- and all the complications they cause -- with their trademark warmth, humour, and devotion to each other and those they love. And margaritas."
When was Sweet Magnolias season 3 confirmed?
Back in May 2022, the cast and crew confirmed a third season of Sweet Magnolias would be coming to our screens, after the second series dropped three months earlier in February.
Executive producer Dan Paulson said in a statement at the time: "We're thrilled to be embarking on our third season for Netflix, and we're looking forward to returning to Serenity."
The cast took to Instagram to add, "We are back! Season 3 of Sweet Magnolias is happening! 🌸💐"
Who will star in Sweet Magnolias season 3?
The central trio, JoAnna Garcia Swisher (Maddie Townsend), Brooke Elliot (Dana Sue Sullivan) and Heather Headley (Helen Decatur), have confirmed they'll all return for season 3.
Elsewhere in the cast, there isn't really any significant reason for other characters to leave the story, so any missing names from the cast list would be a surprise.
A mysterious new character is also going to be pretty hard work for the ladies, with showrunner Sheryl J Anderson telling TVLine, "She's been away for a while, but she has come back with an agenda. She has come home to settle some scores."
