Sweet Magnolias fans are thinking about JoAnna Garcia Swisher.

The 43-year-old actress had fans in her corner after sharing an emotional photo of her late parents, Jay and Loraine Garcia. In the picture, the two walked hand-in-hand down a sidewalk surrounded by green grass and tall palm trees. JoAnna lost her father Jay in late November 2019 and her mother Loraine died less than two years later in March 2021.

"Some days are just harder than others. That whole thing about grief being like a wave. It’s so true. Missing you so much, mom and dad ❤️," she wrote in the September 22 post. "If there are purses in heaven, I know you’re carrying mom’s so she has a free hand to hold."

Reacting to JoAnna's heartbreaking tribute to her parents, Sweet Magnolias fans reached out in her comment section to share their love and support.

"Sending you so much love and comfort. And knowing that they live on in you and your girls, and your heart is because of them," wrote one individual. "Sending you a lot of extra love today ❤️🙏🏼," commented a different fan. "I understand it’s been 3 years and it feels like yesterday I lost my mom I still cry every day," another person added.

She has talked openly about how hard it was to experience such personal loss in such a short amount of time, especially when she was dealing with the growing success of Netflix's Sweet Magnolias. Two weeks before her mother's death, her grandmother Helen also died in February 2021.

In an interview with People around this time, she said, "It's a gaping hole. But I really believe that's it not what happens to you, it's what happens for you. And even in their passing, I know that's not for nothing."

The Reba alum went on to talk about how her young daughters, Emerson, 13, and Sailor, 6, who she shares with her husband Nick Swisher, 41, (all pictured below) helped her process her emotions and find the strength to keep moving forward. "My daughters have watched me go through so much in the last year, from the highs of the success of Sweet Magnolias to the lowest of lows, to losing my parents," she told the magazine.

What's more, JoAnna told the outlet her favorite things about her parents, and her hope that as her daughters continue to grow, she shows those traits to them.

"My mom was such a strong, capable, amazing woman," she said to the outlet. "And my father was the ultimate father and feminist and just huge source of support. And I think that just solidified my strength. So I only hope that I'm kind of modeling that same strength for my girls in finding their voice."
