SUZANNE SOMERS: There's a friend down here who puts on heavy, heavy lip liner, and then fills in with white, which probably looked good when she was 20 and 30. But at 70 it doesn't look so good. So I think you have to back off and put on a little makeup at a time and see what looks good.

A beauty regimen is so important as you age, because you want to present your best face not only to yourself and your husband or your family, but to the world. And to not take care of yourself means you don't value yourself. I comb my hair every day and I get dressed every day, and most days, put on a little eyeliner just to open up the eyes. It's part of my self-esteem to present the best face that I am capable of presenting.

The biggest beauty mistake women over 50 make that I see is continuing to do the makeup they did when they were in their 20s. Because at 50, 60, 70, 80, it starts looking thick and heavy because you have to put on more. Your lines aren't as defined as they were.

We have cell phones. You can take a picture of yourself, and the cell phone pictures don't lie. And just see if what you're doing is working.

I make a makeup line that is actually good for you, that if you went to bed with your makeup on-- I have it on right now. There's nothing bad in it. There's no chemicals. There's no formaldehyde.

These organic cosmetics that I make are clean. In order to get that insignia, Certified Toxic Free, it's got to be grown organically, extracted organically, and nothing upwind or downwind of the product can be toxic [? to ?] contaminated. Hard guidelines.

Is there magic in any one of them? Do I have the cream that will take every wrinkle off your face? No. But if you're a thinking person, what about eating right and putting clean, organic skin care on your skin and body? It just feels better when you do it.

My number one thing in my organic skin care line is what we call everyday cleanser. It's olive-based. Everything that's in it is from nature. And it's a twofer. It not only remove your makeup, but it removes your eye makeup.

And the next thing I use is liquid oxygen. Liquid oxygen is oxygen suspended in liquid. It's got watermelon extract, lentil extract, and apple extract in it. And it's like giving your skin a drink. I live in the desert. My skin needs a drink all the time.

And then the third one, if it's daytime, I would put on bioactive moisturizer, which is a moisturizer loaded with [? coq10. ?] Now, why would that be valuable to your skin? When you put it on your skin, it gives the cells back the energy that it's lost in the aging process.

The best piece of advice that I could give women over 50 is what you put into life is what you get out of it. If you're not going to take care of yourself, it's going to show on your face, and on your body, and it's going to cause accelerated aging. So take good care of yourself. Feed yourself right. Use the right products on your hair and skin. It gives me this glow, this joy, that my purpose, that I'm doing the right thing with my life at the right time with my louder voice, which is such a privilege.
