This Sustainable Activewear Brand Keeps Selling Out—But It Just Got Restocked with New Summer Colors

The old saying goes that you’re only as good as your tools, and I like to think that it applies to workout gear, too. As much as I wish that I could crush a HIIT exercise in nothing but pajama pants and an old T-shirt, that’s simply not the case: A good sports bra and a pair of sweat-wicking leggings undoubtedly make the hardest crunches easier. So with indoor exercises becoming the norm under quarantine, I’ve spent a lot of time scouring the internet for the best activewear I could wear at home all day. And the best gear I’ve tried lately is made from a material you’d never expect.

If someone had told me weeks ago that Girlfriend Collective's sports bras and leggings are made from recycled water bottles, I wouldn’t have believed it. In fact, even since trying them out for myself, I'm still incredulous: They’re so incredibly smooth and comfortable that I’m more inclined to believe they’re made from the softest cushions in the world.

I first became intrigued by Girlfriend Collective’s Paloma bra after a colleague recommended it, and since then I’ve been absolutely hooked. Made from 11 recycled post-consumer bottles, the longline bra covers nearly my entire torso down to my belly button. It’s incredibly supportive (so you won’t have any, um, “boob bounce”), and so breathable that it’s all I’ll wear to the grocery store on hot, humid days.

If you’re skeptical like I was, though, I’ll let the numbers tell the story. The Paloma bra boasts nearly 3,000 glowing customer reviews, and double that for the brand’s signature high-rise leggings. It’s no wonder Girlfriend Collective’s best-sellers, including the Paloma Bra, instantly sell out across retailers whenever a restock takes place.

But as another old saying goes, there’s always a silver lining—especially for those who have been dreaming of snagging these sold-out items for themselves. Girlfriend Collective just launched a set of limited-edition summer colors for its best-sellers, including a refreshing lemon yellow, a pastel lilac, a bright marigold, and a woody acorn hue.

Take a look below at Girlfriend Collective’s new summer launches before they inevitably run out of stock.
