Susanne Kaufmann, L:a Bruket Have New CEOs

PARIS — Two European beauty brands — Susanne Kaufmann and L:a Bruket — have new chief executive officers.

Kerry Evans joins Susanne Kaufmann in the position, succeeding Jessica Clark.

Evans most recently served as Avon’s vice president, global brand, prior to which she was global category head for makeup. Evans worked as general manager for the U.K. and Republic of Ireland at Elemis, after spending more than five years at the Estée Lauder Cos., working with brands such as MAC Cosmetics, La Mer, Bobbi Brown and Jo Malone London, according to her LinkedIn profile.

“With a strong track record of scaling brands internationally and experience across marketing, sales, product and business strategy, Kerry is the ideal omnichannel leader to spearhead the continued expansion and rapidly growing momentum of this brand,” Chris Garek, chairman of the board of Manzanita Capital, an investor in Susanne Kaufmann, said in a statement.

Before launching her eponymous natural brand, which takes a holistic view of wellness, in 2003, Kaufmann created high-end, signature beauty treatments inspired by nature for her family’s hotel in Bregenzerwald, in the Austrian Alps. Kaufmann’s brand includes a wide variety of face and body care products.

Evans said she’d long admired Susanne Kaufmann “for its pioneering spirit, which over the past 20 years has delivered clean, sustainable and responsible skin care for consumer globally.”

Over in Sweden, natural and organic skin care brand L:a Bruket has beauty veteran Jean-Christophe Jourde as its CEO. He succeeds Stanislas Le Bert.

Jourde formerly worked at the Estée Lauder Cos., most recently as vice president and general manager of Clinique and global corporate sustainability and citizenship, according to his LinkedIn profile.

“I am very happy to join the adventure of L:a bruket, a brand that I happily define as a Sustainable Native Verticle Brand,” Jourde said in a statement.

“This iconic Swedish brand is one of the most inclusive in our industry. It stands out on the market by its anchoring in culture and Swedish spa rituals with organic and natural products for the body, face, hair and home,” he continued. “With my experience in brand development and CSR, joining L:a Bruket is a natural evolution and perfectly in line with my experiences, values and know-how.”

Based in Varberg, Sweden, L:a Bruket was founded in 2008 by Monica Kylén and Mats Johansson. Its products are made on the country’s West Coast and created with a philosophy that balances nature and tradition with modern, functional products.

Experienced Capital Partners acquired a majority stake in L:a Bruket in 2019.
