We're truly in the endgame of Survivor 44, with only a week left of on-island time. And in this week's episode, it all led to a surprising idol play and yet another blindside.

Danny Massa

Back in the premerge, Danny had a rocky first impression with Carolyn when he focused solely on Brandon during a cross-tribal journey. And that small domino eventually led to the big one of his departure. After getting rid of his biggest threat in Frannie, Danny was ready to join up with Ratu once again and turn their attention to the increasingly-dangerous Tika Three. But Carolyn caught a sniff of what was happening, and decided to act on it. After a tense exchange about their different thoughts on the game, she played her idol on Carson, squashing Danny's plan. And the Tikas prevailed once more when they turned their votes onto him, and the firefighter had his torch extinguished sporting a De Niro-esque grimace.

Were any advantages found or played on Survivor 44 tonight?

Yes! Carolyn revealed she had found the hidden immunity idol at Tika camp for the first time this season. She ended up playing it on Carson, negating two votes against him.
