Surprising Exactly No One, BTS Is 2018’s Most Tweeted-About Celebrity
According to year-end data released by Twitter on Wednesday morning, international K-pop boy band sensation BTS is, for the second year in a row on the platform (where they have about 17.2 million followers), the most tweeted-about user across the world and the most tweeted-about musicians in the U.S. (In the celebrity category, the group bested the likes of Kanye West, Ariana Grande, and Beyoncé.) BTS also had the most liked tweet of 2018: their video for Drake’s #InMyFeelingsChallenge, which has gained more than 1.6 million likes and 13.7 million views.
Though she ultimately lost out to a GIF of Obama dropping the mic, Lady Gaga had the third most quoted tweet of 2018, which was a post from November 6, 2012:
