Surprise "9-11 Inches" Hits Colorado Resort

Telluride Ski Resort just shared a big win today, announcing they'd picked up between nine and 11 inches during this week's storm.

Plus, they noted that "Lift 5 terrain will open today!"

As of now, Telluride has six of its 17 lifts open and 26 runs—ample terrain for local skiers to take advantage of the fresh snow. However, for the foreseeable future, it's looking unlikely that more of the white stuff is on the way.

NOAA suggests that mild and dry conditions are headed towards Telluride. It appears to be an incoming Junecember situation (December and June don't combine as well as January and June do, clearly).

But hey, springy turns in December? If you can ignore the fact that it should be dumping, warm weather and groomers are entirely pleasant.

Like several ski resorts throughout North America, Telluride had a slow start this season. They delayed their opening day in November, targeting an early December opening. But now the resort's back on track, working tirelessly to hit that coveted "100% open" milestone.

And thankfully, per Telluride's webcams, the resort appears to have enough snow to ford a warming period successfully. Locals, enjoy the warming trend while you can—I'm sure more snow will arrive in the coming weeks.
