After five years together, I'm still madly in love...with my dish rack. This is no ordinary rack. It has a multitude of talents! And it's quite easy on the eyes.

My dear Surpahs Over the Sink Multipurpose Rack — on sale right now for $27, from $36 — rolls out in a snap to dry my hand-washables over the sink, which was all I used it for in the beginning. That was plenty. But I soon realized my Surpahs can double as a food strainer, a kid-art dryer, a trivet, a laundry rack and so much more! It can even act as extra counter space for Memorial Day food prep and a cooling rack for cookies.

When I need more sink space, I simply roll it to the side. When it needs a cleaning, I pop it in the dishwasher. Several friends have praised my strainer in the past, and I was slow to take the hint. But I think I'll be purchasing a few as gifts this year!

Amazon will give you free shipping on this. But if you have Amazon Prime, you’ll get so much more — from access to new movies to two-day shipping on many items. Not yet a member? No problem. You can sign up for your free 30-day trial here.

Right now, the minimalist wonder is 25% off for the large (20.5 x 13), but there are two other sizes available.

I'm not alone in my love for this rack. It's earned 4.8 stars and more than 23,000 five-star ratings. Read on to see what shoppers are saying.

Drains and strains

The primary use of this is to drip-dry dishes. It completes this task without the eyesore of a big rack or the eventual ickiness of a mat.

One five-star fan said: "We have extremely hard water here, so my dish drying mat always gets crusty with the calcium buildup from the water that drips from the washed dishes/cups/pots/pans. Now I wash them, then lay them down on this mat over the sink, so any water that drips while drying goes in the sink, saving me untold hours cleaning the other countertop drying mat."

But this shopper doesn't stop at dishes. The reviewer continued: "It's also GREAT for washing produce. You can put the clean produce on this rack to dry. Really sturdy too, and the size is just perfect — not too big, not too small. I can use it both lengthwise and widthwise over my sink."

Creative chefery

Because it's food-safe and heat-resistant, you can use this surface for so many purposes, from thawing to cooling. Read on for the creative ways shoppers are using it!

"So much more than a dish drainer," wrote one shopper. "I baked a cake and used it for a cooking rack. Can't wait to use it to cool the Christmas cookies. It will hold tacos while you fill them. It is extra counter space when you run out. Put your cutting board on top and you have access to the water while you cut. It is strong enough to put your turkey in the pan, put the pan on the dish drainer and stuff/fix your turkey for cooking. I am buying one of these for each of my relatives for Christmas..."

Rolls away

Amazon shoppers (myself, included) love the minimalist look. It's sleek unrolled, but disappears in a snap when you want it to.

One customer who gave it an "A+" wrote: "I like the look of a clean counter. Beforehand, I had been using a quilted dish drying mat to the right of my sink, but I didn't like the clutter or the slower drying...[This] is above and beyond what I had hoped for. It's sturdy, holding my heaviest cast-iron skillets, mixing bowls, etc., and yet it rolls up for storage or can be folded halfway to the side for sink use. I leave it out all the time, and items air dry quickly due to the open-air nature..."

It even dries laundry!

Searching for a better way to dry your unmentionables and other non-dryer items? Look no further.

As one savvy shopper said: "Practical mom and design object aficionado both approve. It ROCKS! Greatest thing ever! I bought this for an over the laundry room sink...place to lay out sopping wet swimsuits — but it's the coolest. Heavy, durable, shockingly attractive and rolls up to nothing for storage. I will get a second for my kitchen and ditch the drain rack that never gets emptied. Warm grey color is gorgeous and matches anywhere in my house."

So many uses, I tell you! Perhaps you'll discover a new one.
