Presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has some surfing heavyweights in his corner supporting his 2024 run for president.

The presidential hopeful took to X, fka Twitter, on Friday to let the world know eleven-time world champ Kelly Slater and "surfing deity" Laird Hamilton are on his team.

According to Kennedy's post, Slater attended a Brentwood fundraiser while Hamilton and his wife, Gabby Reese, attended one in Malibu.

Kennedy captioned his post above:

According to reports, Slater mingled with celebrities and saw good music at the Brentwood event that took place at a private estate. Legendary musician Eric Clapton performed, raising $2.2 million for Kennedy's campaign.

The Instagram page ls4Kennedy posted more pics with one featuring surfing's G.O.A.T. in a group shot.

It shouldn't come as a surprise though, since we know Slater isn't afraid to attach his name to causes he believes in.

We recently reported that he's lending his voice to narrate a new Julian Assange documentary called "The Trust Fall," along with Pink Floyd's Roger Waters and British rapper, M.I.A.

Around the same time, we covered Slater's support for Kennedy on Instagram where he posted a clip of the democratic candidate on a podcast and wrote, "The kind of person I want as a president."

But Slater's political endeavors aren't the only time we've seen surfing and politics cross paths lately.

We recently reported on former pro surfer Conan Hayes' connection to tampering with Donald Trump's 2020 election. And a few years ago, "Surfer" ran a piece about why surfers should vote for Joe Biden and Kamala Harris.
