Supreme Might Be Launching a Lipstick

Attention all streetwear fans: Supreme's next highly anticipated drop might also be its first foray into beauty.

According to The Cut, an allegedly leaked image of Supreme's latest launch has been posted by Instagram account The Snobette. The image reveals a red — of course — rectangular tube emblazoned with the brand’s logo, with the lipstick itself mimicking the exterior's crimson packaging. Honestly, it’s exactly what you would expect Supreme to do if they were to put their stamp on makeup, and the more we think about it, the more we wonder why this isn't already a thing that exists.

Considering how it seems many fashion labels eventually pivot to include beauty offerings, we can't help but speculate if this is but the beginning of a larger step into beauty. Will Supreme be releasing more of its own branded cosmetics, or could a partnership with a larger beauty house be in the cards? Over the past few years, the streetwear brand has collabed with everyone from Louis Vuitton to New York City’s MTA, so a beauty venture seems like a natural next step. (Supreme candles, anyone?)

Some commenters were already doubtful of the quality of the lipstick, and another pointed out the irony in beauty lovers eagerly waiting for a lipstick drop that they would never actually swatch, much less use on the regular. (Mint condition, limited-edition Supreme goods are among the most hotly coveted items on resale sites like eBay and Grailed.)

So far, the company has not confirmed the news of an upcoming beauty product, but fans are clearly in full support of it. "They better drop lip balm and nail polish as well," commented one Instagram user, while others questioned why a streetwear brand was exploring beauty at all. But considering Supreme had no issues creating branded paperweights made of $100 bills, we can't see why lipstick would be any more of a stretch for them. However, maybe one commenter put it best in her response to dissenting opinions: "Boys, chill," wrote one female fan to address those who were confused about the possible expansion. "We buy Supreme too."
