WASHINGTON (DC News Now) — Calling all book lovers! Independent Bookstore Day is this Saturday, April 27 and dozens of local bookshops are celebrating.
IndieBound is hosting events throughout the country, including a few in the DMV for D.C.-area readers.
D.C. Bookstore Crawl:
DC Independent Bookstore Day and East City Bookshop are co-hosting a bookstore crawl in D.C. Participants are tasked to visit at least five local indie bookstores to win a prize from the fifth store they visit. Readers who visit all 19 participating stores have a chance to win a grand prize.

Call Your Mother fundraiser for Jubilee Jobs
Northern Virginia Passport Program (includes Maryland and West Virginia):
Fifteen indie bookstores across Northern Virginia, Maryland and West Virginia are hosting a passport program. Though each store is celebrating on April 27, you can participate in the program through May 31.
The Blue Ridge Ledger reported that once you visit four stores, you can collect a book prize; those who visit eight stores get a tote bag; and if you visit at least 10 of the 15 participating stores by May 31, you’ll have a chance to win the Grand Prize.
