Supernatural’s Jared Padalecki Just Scored His Next Role and SPN Fans Are ~Emotional~
Yes, Supernatural fans, it’s really happening. After more than a decade, SPN is coming to an end with its 15th season. We knew this already, but a new piece of news from Jared Padalecki is really hammering it home.
Jared (who you may also recognize as Dean on Gilmore Girls) is handing over Sam Winchester’s countless fake FBI badges for some other credentials. Deadline has just reported that the 37-year-old actor will be executive producing and starring in Walker, a CBS reboot of the ’90s classic Walker, Texas Ranger.
While the original Cordell Walker was played by action star Chuck Norris, Jared and writer/executive producer Anna Fricke (Valor, Being Human) will be giving the series a 2019 makeover.
According to Deadline, Jared’s Walker is “a man finding his way back to his family while investigating crime in the state’s most elite unit. Our broken widower and father of two returns home to Austin after being undercover for two years for a high profile case—only to discover that there’s even more work to be done at home.” His partner will be one of the few women who work as Texas Rangers.
TBH, Supernatural fans are conflicted. Some can’t wait to show their support:
I'm not a huge fan of reboots, but I'll watch anything Jared's in ❤️

As much as I dislike reboots (is there no originality left in Hollywood?) I would probably watch this simply because of Padalecki.

I got such a big smile on my face when I read this 😁
I can behind this casting 100%. The only thing better would be Chuck Norris making a cameo to pass the torch!— Katie Cozza 🕊️ (@katie_cozza) September 23, 2019

However, there are still some who aren’t ready to let go just yet:
So he's stopping one tv show and doing another tv show? What's the point? Stay where you were

Jared and his costars Jensen Ackles and Misha Collins, revealed that Supernatural would be coming to an end back in March with this emotional video:
Hey #SPNFamily here’s a little message from @JensenAckles @mishacollins and me. I’m so grateful for the family that’s been built because of the show. Excuse me while i go cry. pic.twitter.com/QDXDsAyIfK

“We’ve cried some tears, and we’ll cry some more,” Jared said in the Twitter post. But don’t mourn just yet, Supernatural returns for a full final showdown October 10 on The CW. Until then, all I have to say is congratulations, Jared!
