Back in the '60s, somewhere in a TV production office, a certifiable genius came up with the brilliant, if not slightly unusual, idea to combine game shows and grocery shopping. In that moment, Supermarket Sweep was born: a game where contestants had to answer trivia questions and run around a grocery store collecting high-priced items. And as the U.S. enters yet another month of uncertainty surrounding COVID-19, it's as if the Universe knew we needed a break. That's right: Supermarket Sweep is officially on Netflix.

The streaming giant has gifted viewers with one season of the show (15 episodes) from 1993. The episodes are only around 20 minutes long, so beware non-stop Netflix watchers: your supply of '90s nostalgia will run out faster than you can say "cleanup on aisle 12."

The show originally aired in 1965 for only two seasons before it was resurrected from 1990-1995 and then again from 2000-2003. A new, rebooted version, hosted by SNL's Leslie Jones, was set to begin filming in spring 2020, but has undoubtedly been delayed due to the coronavirus pandemic. With the its longest stint in the '90s, the show's welcome to Netflix is stirring up some major nostalgia among millennial viewers (especially those of us looking for a welcomed distraction these days).

If you're in the (super)market to relive some old-school game show fun, then head to Netflix and watch episode after episode (and over again!) to your heart's delight. Happy viewing!
