Henry Cavill might not be done being Superman just yet.

The actor, who played the Man of Steel from 2013 to his final cameo appearance in 2022’s Black Adam, has given director Matthew Vaughn a bolt of inspiration.

Vaughn, who directs Cavill in spy thriller Argylle, tells the Post Credit podcast he’s interested in working with him again in a Superman movie.

“Wow, could you imagine remaking Red Son with Henry Cavill? That would be an interesting movie,” said Vaughn, referencing 2003 comic Superman: Red Son.

“I thought Red Son was one of the cleverest comics I’d ever read, and the current world we’re living in, it’s certainly become a lot more relevant because ignorance causes more issues, and I think the more we learn about Russia and the Russian history.”

In Superman: Red Son, Clark Kent lands not in North America, but the Soviet Union, with the story exploring the result of a Russian Man of Steel.

There’s little chance of that collaboration happening any time soon, however. Superman is set for a reboot with 2025’s Superman: Legacy, which stars new actor David Corenswet. Meet your new Superman.

It’s not unprecedented, though. Multiple versions of the same DC character have existed before under different brandings. If Superman: Red Son were to happen, Henry Cavill could slot into DC’s Elseworlds universe, which houses standalone films like Joker and The Batman.
