‘Supergirl’ Costars Melissa Benoist and Chris Wood Are Engaged

It’s a super start to the week for Melissa Benoist! The actress, who plays the title character on the CW’s Supergirl, revealed late Sunday, February 10, that she is engaged to costar Chris Wood.

“Yes yes yes it will always be yes,” Benoist captioned a photo of herself and Wood, who is seen leaning in to give her a kiss on the cheek as she shows off her stunning engagement ring.

Wood, who played Benoist’s on-screen love interest Mon-El in seasons 2 and 3 of the CW drama, shared the same photo, writing that he was “the happiest.” He later posted another photo of the couple all dressed up for a wedding, which he captioned, “not from our wedding BUT IT WILL BE SOON!”

The couple first met when Wood joined the Supergirl cast at the end of season 1 in 2016. Reports of their romance circulated a short time later, when they were spotted packing on the PDA during a trip to Cancun, Mexico, in early 2017.

This will be the second marriage for Benoist, who was previously married to her Glee costar Blake Jenner. The couple split in 2016.
