A ~super festive~ comet will be lighting up your New Year’s Eve sky
Fireworks – and your flawless outfit – won’t be the only things shining bright on New Year’s Eve: A comet will streak by on the last day of the year to provide a little extra shimmer.
Comet 45P/Honda-Mrkos-Pajdušáková (maybe come up with a snappier name, next time, guys?) will be visible on December 31st, just after sunset.
According to USA Today, hopeful comet-gazers should get out of cities to less light-polluted areas, use a telescope or binoculars, and look west.
If you’re too busy dancing the night away to look skyward, don’t worry: The comet will be back on February 11th, and will return to make another appearance in about 5.25 years.
