Every year during Resort season, Jeremy Scott manages to pull off a major Moschino event on the West Coast. This year proved no different when editors and top models flocked to Universal Studio’s backlot to watch his horrifically enchanting looks walk straight out of the Desperate Housewives set and come to life on a cast of actresses, It girls, and models. Kicking off the show with a Drew Barrymore in Scream-inspired shriek, Suki Waterhouse fled from her house on Wisteria Lane in search of her fellow Moschino girls and boys for a night of “trick or chic.”

Before her star turn on the catwalk, Waterhouse brought Vogue along to walk through her pre-show routine. Things started off at her Los Angeles pad and quickly ended up at Swingers Diner, where Waterhouse ordered her favorite peanut butter–and-banana milkshake and a gooey grilled cheese sandwich. She couldn’t resist a side order of fries and a quick Marvin Gaye jukebox jam before battling L.A. traffic to make it to rehearsal on time. On the way, Waterhouse broke down the casting experience, put on her best American accent, and shared her secret to appearing taller IRL.

Upon Waterhouse’s fashionably late arrival, Scott whisked her away to plan out the show’s opening marks and spooky plot. Then, Waterhouse headed straight to the beauty tent to get into her character for the night. With little time to spare, it was all hands on deck with hairstylist Jimmy Paul transforming Waterhouse’s effortlessly beachy waves into a more ’90s-inspired blunt bob. As the moon rose above the show set, the Moschino monsters took to the streets in Scott’s latest looks to kill. Waterhouse’s acting skills may have come into play for this show, but she admits that fashion is her real first home. Watch it all unfold, here.
