When Suits wrapped in 2019, everyone was *really* bummed. But Meghan Markle was about to announce her big engagement to Prince Harry, and the show's biggest star kinda needed to take a hiatus from her acting career in order to officially join her husband's royal family and begin a new life together.

And while it's been a minute since anyone thought about this legal drama, this summer, Suits got a new life after debuting on Netflix. All eight seasons landed on the streaming platform, and fans couldn't get enough. In fact, people have been so into the revival that the show has set all kinds of new records. Few people know that there's actually a Suits spinoff called Pearson that follows one of the main characters from the OG show. The series was also released in 2019, but is riding the Suits wave back into popularity now after being re-released on Peacock on August 31.

What is Pearson about?

Pearson follows the story of Jessica Pearson, a lawyer who was the former managing partner at Pearson Specter Litt and aide to Chicago's mayor. Jessica has left her life in New York and moves full time to Chicago to start a new life and channel her career pursuits into midwestern politics. Like Suits, the spinoff is a political drama that follows Jessica's legal and political battles in the Windy City.

The show stars Gina Torres as Jessica Pearson (she played the OG Jessica in Suits, too), Gabriel Macht as Harvey Specter, and Rick Hoffman as Louis Litt.

How many episodes are there?

There are 10 episodes of Pearson's first season. Unfortunately, that's all you get because the show was canceled after season 1, but it’s getting new attention now thanks to the whole Suits revival. Who knows?! Perhaps there could be a season 2 some time in the future.
