Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League Adds Joker This Month As Season 1 Starts

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League looks like it’s on life-support, and a certain clown prince of crime may be just what it needs right now. The live-service shooter was always designed to add new characters and scenarios with a seasonal model, but its first new addition might be taking too much time to arrive on the scene. Players will be able to control the Joker, an Elseworld variant, in Suicide Squad on March 28.

That's not the only new addition, as Rocksteady has announced the release date of the game on the Epic Games Store for PC players, it being March 26. With the game arriving on EGS just a couple of days before the Joker's addition, Rocksteady would be hoping for a sizeable boost in player count. As of the time of writing, Suicide Squad has barely cracked 500 concurrent players on Steam (in 24 hours), which is lower than the number of comments and retweets on the announcement's Twitter post. Hilarious, as the Joker would call it. Still, considering how the all-time high only touched around 13,000 players, and with more people booting up Batman: Arkham Knight instead, Suicide Squad has to deliver on all fronts in season 1.

The new Joker, not to be confused with the dead Joker from Arkham City, will have his own move set that distinguishes him from his fellow squad mates. Reminiscent of Cesar Romero’s portrayal of the character, the Joker's combat and traversal are all based around his rocket-powered umbrella. As for how the character is here in the first place, those who finished the campaign for Suicide Squad will know that the multiverse plays a big part in its plot.
