Sugar Factory restaurant just opened in Delray Beach has celebrity connections

The Sugar Factory restaurant, known throughout the world for its celebrity endorsements and drinks served in goblets, is officially open in Delray Beach.

The restaurant offers an extensive brunch and dinner fare and its signature menu has everything from omelettes and pancakes to salads, burgers and pizzas.

It opened at the former Lionfish of Delray Beach, an acclaimed fish restaurant at 307 E. Atlantic Ave. The Sugar Factory opened Friday, April 26.

Is this the first Sugar Factory in Florida?

The restaurant chain has been around since 2009, and its Delray Beach location is the chain's fifth in Florida and first in Palm Beach County. Other locations are in Miami Beach, Orlando, Tampa and Jacksonville.

What is the Sugar Factory?

The chain was founded by Las Vegas-based restaurateur Charissa Davidovici. It's since opened restaurants in some of the world's most cosmopolitan cities, including New York City, Chicago, Las Vegas, Dubai and Manila.

What's the celebrity connection to Sugar Factory?

It has become known not only for its Instagrammable drinks and desserts but also for its Couture Pops — celebrity-endorsed lollipops. The sparkly lollipops have been endorsed by or spotted in the clutches of celebrities including Kendall and Kylie Jenner, Britney Spears, Drake, Eva Longoria and Bruno Mars.

To further namedrop, Snoop Dogg, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, Nick Jonas, Natti Natasha and Pitbull are among those who have designed or sampled many of the restaurant's signature cocktails, which are served in colorful, smoky goblets.

Craig Menin, a restaurant and nightclub developer whose Menin Development, a real estate agency based in Delray Beach, owned Lionfish, said he loved the concept of Sugar Factory for Atlantic Avenue.

RESTAURANT NEWS: A fresh batch of places to eat and locally made treats

"They do something not found on Atlantic Avenue," he said. "And it adds a place that will appeal to both adults and families in downtown."

Reservations for Sugar Factory are now available and can be made via OpenTable.
